Hazelnut Iced Coffee
Hazelnut Iced Tea Header

Hazelnut Iced Coffee made from Tim Horton’s & Hazelnut Almond Milk for a seriously good drink served on Ice.

Not just for Iced Coffee. Brew Hot Hazelnut Coffee. Add Sugar and Hazelnut Milk instead of Cream for a Coffee that packs some real Hazelnut flavors.

Tim Horton’s Hazelnut Coffee

Pick up Hazelnut coffee grinds at their store location or at your local grocery store. This can be used as is for the coffee or cut some by their regular coffee. It’s really a matter of preference. I use it straight for a very bold Hazelnut Flavor, although this may be too strong for some. Adjust as you see fit.

Use 1/3 C of Coffee Grinds and fill the pot up with water. Let it run through its cycle.

Hazelnut Almond Milk

Pick up the Hazelnut Almond Milk at your local grocery store. I usually pick it up at Walmart or Giant Tiger. Use this for the Hazelnut Iced Coffee or used to replace the cream or in combination with the cream in a Hazelnut Coffee.

Hot Hazelnut Coffee

Tim Horton’s use to sell the Hazelnut shot that I would always order when getting my coffee. It was so good. They have since stopped selling this.

Wanting to find an adequate substitute, I tried their hazelnut coffee. It’s good, but not quite the same.

I then came across Hazelnut Almond Milk. I try adding this, and wow what a hit of hazelnut. Both the Coffee & Almond milk flavored with Hazelnut is pretty damn good just as is for a coffee and is a sufficient substitute.

Chilling the Coffee

Tim Horton’s uses their old coffee to make Iced Coffee. Once the pots have been sitting there for more than 20 minutes. The Coffee gets dumped into a huge container and refrigerated overnight to be used for Iced Coffee the next day. The cold coffee gets mixed with Ice Cubes, Sugar and Milk or Cream to make Iced Coffee.

We do the same thing at home. Make a fresh pot of coffee. Dump it into a container and refrigerate overnight, covered. The next day, make some Iced Coffee.

Hazelnut Iced Coffee

With the Hazelnut Coffee chilled overnight, we are ready to make Hazelnut Iced Coffee. Place some Ice cubes into a blender and roughly blend. You’re looking for chunky ice cubes, not full-size ice cubes, although you could if you wanted.

Fill your cup up with the ice cubes and add the cold coffee. Add some Hazelnut Almond milk and Sugar as sweet as you like. Mix well and serve. Voilà Hazelnut Iced Coffee, Timmies Style.

Hazelnut Syrup Shot

While I haven’t found a Hazelnut Syrup shot that is the same as what Tim Horton’s use to use for their coffee. There are a few brands that can be picked up at your local grocery store or through Amazon, that can be added here to up the Hazelnut Flavor and substitute for some of the sugar.

I find the Coffee and Almond Milk to do a pretty good job at delivering on that Hazelnut Flavor, so the Shot/Syrup is optional.

Caramel Shots are another option to add.

Iced Coffee Cups

If you Love Iced Coffee and want to enjoy the experience of the cups that they are sold in. You can save the cup from your next purchase of Iced Coffee and rinse it out to use again.

The Plastic Cups can also be purchased at your local Cash & Carry. These are the Clear Plastic Cups that Timmies uses for Iced Coffee and other things such as Smoothies, or use the Tim Hortons Plastic Take home Cups.

Hazelnut Iced Coffee Boldness

You can have this as light or bold as desired. In all cases, Hazelnut Almond Milk is added with Sugar or Hazelnut Syrup & Sugar. The Hazelnut almond milk will also contain sugar, so for those who only need a little the Milk is sufficient. For sweeter, add more sugar.

The Hazelnut Almond Milk can be cut in half with Heavy Cream (18 %) as well.
