Pita Bread with Hummus and Garlic Butter & Maritime Bagel Seasoning on top! This is just so nice to tear into as a side to numerous dishes, as a Snack or for Breakfast. Maybe I should just call this the Humming Pita because it’s going to make you go Hmmm, this is so good!

Traditionally Pita Bread with Hummus is a Mediterranean dish. This recipe takes it to a whole other level with both the Garlic Butter & Maritime Bagel Seasoning. Together these really do add so much more and are complimentary to each other.

Pita Bread

Use store bought or Homemade Pita Bread. If you visit your local Middle Eastern Store chances are they will have some fresh Pita bread for far cheaper than you would get at the big supermarkets. We pick up ours for about $1.00 CAD.

Reheating Pita Bread

Preheat a skillet over medium heat and wait a few minutes for it to get warm. Then Pan fry the Pita bread until heated through and soft, flip it to heat the other side through. Place it on a plate for the other ingredients to go on top.

Garlic Butter

Garlic Butter on warmed Pita Bread is so good. Slather Garlic Butter on the freshly heated Pita Bread straight from the skillet.

  • 1/2 C JAH Aioli Recipe 
  • 1/2 C Butter
  • 1 tsp Parsley, Chives, Dehydrated Onion & Garlic Flakes
  • 1/2 tsp Butter Popcorn Seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp Dillweed & Aleppo Chili Flakes

Hummus

Use store bought or Homemade Hummus. Spread on the Pita Bread after it has been heated and brushed with Garlic Butter.

Homemade Hummus made from Dried Chickpeas soaked overnight and slow cooked.

You can go with canned chickpeas or store bought Hummus to put this together even faster.

Maritime Bagel Seasoning

Maritime Bagel Seasoning is JAH Product version of the Everything Bagel Seasoning, except way better. Sprinkle the Bagel Seasoning over top with as little or as much as desired.

How to make Pita with Hummus

All you need is Pita Bread, Garlic Butter, Hummus, and Everything Bagel Seasoning.

Start by placing a large skillet over medium heat and allow a few minutes for it to get warm. Place the Pita Bread in and heat through until softened, flip to heat through and soften the other side. Move it to a plate and start placing the ingredients on.

Brush Garlic Butter all over the warmed Pita Bread.

It’s good just like this too with Everything Bagel Seasoning over top.

  • Have the Garlic Butter & Hummus made up.
    Place a large skillet over medium heat and wait a few minutes for it to heat up.
  • Place Pita Bread in to heat through and soften. Flip the other side to heat through and soften more. Remove and place on a plate to top. Repeat for the other Pita.
  • Brush Garlic Butter over the warmed Pita Bread. Then Spread Hummus and sprinkle Maritime Bagel Seasoning over top to serve.
  • Keep them wrapped in tinfoil if serving later.
