PAPA JOHNS GARLIC SAUCE
Homemade Papa Johns Garlic Butter Sauce! Using only 5 ingredients to give you Lip Smacking Butter Garlicky Goodness. Make it at home, anytime you desire. Put some Pizazz on your Pizza with Garlic Butter Sauce.
Quick & Easy Papa Johns Garlic Butter Sauce with a special Ingredient that really takes this over the top. Resulting in a Buttery Garlic Kick like no other. It’s what brings together the Butter & Garlic.
This is my take or version of a Papa Johns Garlic Sauce. You will see other recipes online just combining Butter or Margarine with Garlic Powder & Salt or Garlic Salt. Yet it’s missing something. It’s not quite the same as Papa John’s. It’s because it’s missing out on that Buttery Kick and just a hint of acidity. This recipe will give you your fix.
PAPA JOHNS GARLIC SAUCE INGREDIENTS
Soybean oil, water, salt, vegetable mono & diglycerides (maintains sauce consistency), garlic, natural flavors, soy lecithin (maintains sauce consistency), lactic acid (maintains freshness), sodium benzoate (maintains freshness), calcium disodium EDTA (maintains freshness), citric acid (maintains freshness), natural beta carotene (for color), vitamin A palmitate (enhances flavor).
HOMEMADE PAPA JOHNS GARLIC SAUCE COMPONENTS
It is made up of only Five Ingredients. Despite its simplicity. It results in a Phenomenal Sauce used classically for dipping Pizzas and Twisty Bread/Bread Sticks. Although it can be used for a wide variety of other foods.
The Butter also contains Vitamin A in Papa John’s Garlic Sauce. Use Real Unsalted Butter.
The Salted Butter could result in too much salt in the final Sauce. It’s preferable that the salt comes from the butter popcorn seasoning. Otherwise, you would have to reduce the amount you can add. Which is not desired because of the taste and color it offers.
It’s not to say you can’t use salted butter, you certainly can. And the amounts added in the recipe below are good. If however, you wanted to add more of the butter popcorn seasoning. Then Unsalted Butter vs Salted Butter will be a deciding factor.
Ghee can also be used in place of butter and is preferable if cooking with the Sauce. Although this recipe is designed for dipping only. It doesn’t really hold up when used for cooking.
Soy Bean Oil, Sunflower – which is the one I use, or a Neutral Oil is used to thin out the Butter. This also leaves it in a liquid state or close to it. Olive Oils or other flavored oils do not work and ruins the taste by overpowering it.
This mix of Butter & Oil can also be used for the Twisty Bread Sauce. To which you can add this Garlic Butter Dip in place of the Butter or have this on the side to dip your Bread Sticks into along with Pizza Sauce & Donair Sauce to switch things up.
Just your standard Garlic Powder Granules but in quantities where you can really taste the Garlic. You can adjust this to suit your taste by adding more or less.
I use Garlic Powder Granules because that is usually what I have on hand but suspect that the fine-grind Garlic Powder might work better. You’d have to adjust the amount to less of that than what is stated in the recipe. However, I think you would get a more uniform Garlic taste without the Granules settling at the bottom. To which you have to give it a stir before serving. Of course, you could always add Aioli as well.
For a Polarity of Garlic Flavor add in the addition of Aioli to taste. This will really elevate the Garlic Taste and cause it to have a dynamic Flavor without tiny granules of Garlic.
Only a very small amount. I just pinch the Citric acid and add it in maybe like 1/4 of 1/8 tsp, a very small amount. Wait a few seconds for it to fully dissolve into the sauce while mixing and taste. Add a pinch more if you think it needs it. It shouldn’t be noticeable but assist in lightening up the sauce.
BUTTER POPCORN SEASONING
I had to go out and order the Garlic Sauce from Papa John’s. Just to test the Garlic Butter Sauce side by side to see which was better.
I must say mine is pretty strong and bold compared to Papa John’s and that is certainly more preferable for me. I believe this recipe to be much better. You can tone it down by adding in less Garlic & Butter Popcorn Seasoning, I like it bold smack your taste buds good.
I pick this up at the Bulk Barn under the name “Buttered Salt – Popcorn Seasoning”.
Not only does this up the Buttery Flavor throughout the dish especially since the Oil is introduced for consistency. But it offers a vibrant color to the Sauce as well as introducing the Salt component. This is why you don’t want to use salted butter. Which would lower the amount of Seasoning you could add.
Now that you got an awesome Garlic Butter dipping sauce for Pizzas and other Pizzeria Foods. Head on over to my collection of Pizzeria Recipes categorized under PIES PIzza and have a Pizza Night.
