JFC Onion Rings dipped in a wet batter and tossed in JFC Frickin Good Chicken Breading. Deep-Fried for 2–4 minutes. These are seriously good. I was like, why doesn’t KFC make Onion Rings, these are fantastic! Turns out they do, starting in 2015 I believe. I have never seen them, but then again I don’t go to KFC anymore. I just make JFC at home all the time.
Onion Rings
Slice the onion into rings about 1/4″ thick or thicker. Then dip into the wet batter and bread with JFC Breading.
You can also chop the onions into wedges or nuggets, which are really just half wedges.
White Onions will result in very sweet Onion Rings, while Yellow ones are your standard Onion Rings, which are less sweet and a bit more pungent.
Wet Batter
There are quite a few ways to do Onion Rings. No breading/the classic, Breadcrumbs, or Panko Flakes. The common element here is the wet batter.
I usually make a side of Onion Rings, when making Popeyes Style Chicken using the leftover Popeyes Style marinade. These can be made up with JAH Deep Fry Batter too. Which is just a simplified version of the Popeyes Style marinade. The end result is that the Onion Rings are breaded in JFC Breading before being deep-fried.
JFC Breading
This is the breading that the Onion Rings will get tossed in. Really outstanding, I was surprised how good these were. They just add a flavor to the onion rings that works so well.
Deep Frying JFC Onion Rings
Drop the Onion rings in and Deep fry the Onion rings at 375 F – 400 F for 2–4 minutes. Give the basket a shake to ensure all the rings come loose and don’t stick to each other.
