The JFC Hot Chicken Sandwich, with stripped off the bone JFC Fried Chicken between two slices of buttered bread and slathered in JFC Gravy. Top it off with some cooked Green Peas and/or Crisp Corn Kernels and a side of Mashed Potatoes or Homemade Fries.
Use leftover Turkey on the Holidays. Just reheat the turkey, fill it in between buttered bread and ladle that Gravy over the top for a JFC Hot Turkey Sandwich.
This is a dish I believe originates with the Acadians. This is why it was only seen on the East Coast of Canada & the USA, where Acadians migrated. It is a popular dish in Quebec. Made with seasoned shredded chicken and served with green peas. The JFC Hot Chicken Sandwich uses JFC Fried Chicken deep fried and stripped off the bone.
JFC Fried Chicken
Use previously cooked JFC Fried Chicken stripped off the bone. Optionally use Chicken Fingers or Breast Fillet on bread or the Burger Buns. The skins add flavor and some crunch to the sandwich, which I really enjoy.
JFC Gravy
Prepared and poured over some of the chicken before placing another buttered bread slice on top and pouring over some more gravy. Make it as thick or thin as you like. The JFC Gravy just brings everything together into a satisfying bite.
Hot Chicken Sandwich Bread
Use One or Two slices of Buttered Bread to make the sandwich. Lay down on a plate one slice of buttered bread and top with the Chicken and some Gravy. Optionally add another slice of bread on top and pour over the gravy. Optionally toast the bread.
Served on Burger Buns, too. Instead of the Big Crunch Burger with Lettuce, Mayo & Ketchup, Drizzle Gravy over the chicken breast and on the top bun.
Another option is to use Biscuits. Slice the biscuits in half and top with Chicken and Gravy.
Hot Chicken Sandwich Toppings
Add Green Peas, Corn Kernels, Sautéed Onions, Mixed Vegetables, or Stove top to go over the top if desired.
Accenting Sauces
Drizzle some accenting sauce over top. I don’t know what it is, but I really enjoy ketchup with gravy, just a small amount. It contrasts nicely with the Gravy.
Drizzle on BBQ Sauce, Hot Sauce, or add some mayo on the bottom slice of bread.
