This is a BBQ sauce I call Sweet Chili Tang BBQ Sauce because there is a pleasant sweet zing to it and a raspiness that comes from the chili powder and mustard. It’s based off the Berry BBQ sauce. But it exchanges the red wine vinegar for white distilled vinegar and a bit of apple cider vinegar. It’s good as an all-around BBQ sauce and simple too. Just combine all the ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to simmer until the desired thickness or only simmer briefly for a thin BBQ sauce for glazing.
Ingredients for Sweet Chili Tang BBQ Sauce
Ketchup, White Distilled Vinegar, Apple Cider Vinegar, Sugar, Molasses, Liquid Smoke, Sea Salt, Dry Mustard, Black Pepper, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Chili Powder.
How to Make Sweet Chili Tang BBQ Sauce
Not only is it incredibly tasty, but it’s also so easy to make. Place all the ingredients into a pot and bring to a boil while whisking. That’s it.

BBQ Glazing Sauce
For a BBQ glazing sauce, don’t reduce it down so much. Just bring to a hard boil while whisking, then shut the heat off but leave the pot on the burner as it cools to keep the BBQ sauce thin.
BBQ Lacquering Sauce
For a BBQ lacquering sauce, reduce the BBQ sauce down until thick over medium heat while whisking every so often. The thicker it is, the quicker it tacks up when applied to foods.
