The Cheeseburger Poutine is Ground Beef & Fries covered in a Cheese Sauce as supposed to Gravy, although Gravy can be added as well along with other Ingredients such as Bacon, Onions, Pickles, Tomatoes, and Lettuce.
See how you can make your own customized version of the Cheeseburger Poutine for you and your family. Below are a few great ideas to create so many variations as there are Burgers.
Ground Beef
Use 1 lb of Ground Beef as is and browned in the Skillet, optionally with a Splash of Worcestershire sauce or Soy Sauce. The Burger MIxin can also be used to give the Ground Beef a more beefy and Umami flavors. To further boost the beefy flavor, include 1 Tbl Beef Suet to cook with the Ground Beef.
Burger Mixin
- 1 tsp Beef powder
- 1/2 tsp MSG
- 1/4 tsp Baking Powder
Beef Suet
Cheeseburger Poutine Fries
Homemade Fries, Curly Fries, Shoestring, Thick Cut, Potato Wedges, or Tater Tots. All can be used. Fried or oven-baked.
Deep Fried Fries
Store bought, or Homemade Fries can be made up, although these take quite a bit of time.
Air Fryer Fries
Air Fryer Fries are made up with Store bought Fries.
Cheeseburger Poutine Cheese
The main cheese I use is Cheese Sauce. Have the Cheese Sauce sitting on standby when throwing this together. It will thicken as it sits, just reheat slightly while whisking before serving.
Add in different cheeses like Provolone, Cheddar, Mozzarella, and more for additional flavoring and texture. Cheese powder may also be added.
Additional Cheeses can be shredded or in chunks and spread unto the Fries before pouring over the cheese sauce. If your cheese is nice and hot, it will assist in melting any cheese you may have added.
Cheeseburger Poutine Toppings
Add anything you’d like. One combo I like is just like McDonald’s Hamburgers. With small diced dill pickles & onions.
- Onions (Green, Red, White, Yellow)
- Pickled Onions
- Fried Onions
- Onions Rings/Nuggets
- Tomatoes
- Dill Pickles
- Bacon
- Peppers (Bell Peppers or Hot Pepper)
- Mushrooms
- Sauerkraut
- Relish
Accent Sauce
For additional Flavor and Appeal, use Accent Sauces. Below are some ideas.
- Ketchup
- Mustard & Ketchup
- Ketchup & Sriracha
- Mayo & Ketchup
- Mayo & French Dressing
- Big Mac Sauce
- Sour Cream
- Hot Sauce
- Steak Sauce
