Tandoori Salad consists of mixed Vegetables and a simple Tandoori Vinaigrette that is really just too good. It creates this nice colored dressing that is sweet and very refreshing to eat. Add Tandoori marinated Chicken for a Tandoori Chicken Salad or stuff the Salad into a Pita Bread or on some Naan Bread with Tandoori Chicken and Lettuce! It makes for an excellent side dish for Butter Chicken or Kebabs & Rice, Tandoori Chicken & Rice, and Tandoori Wings.
Tandoori Salad Ingredients
Cucumber, Tomato, Onion, Tandoori Salad Vinaigrette (Neutral Oil, Lemon Juice, Sugar, Tandoori Masala).
Additional Vegetables
Add in whatever Vegetables you like, it works with almost anything. Some ideas below are;
- Napa Cabbage. This is really pleasant in Vinaigrette Salads.
- Iceberg and/or Romaine lettuce
- Bell Peppers (Green, Orange, Red, Yellow) works extremely well with this salad
- Carrots
- Onions (Green, Red, White, Yellow)
Prepare the vegetables any way you’d like, Chopped, Diced or Sliced. Wash and Strain well before placing into a Salad Bowl. Right before serving, drizzle that Tandoori Vinaigrette all over and toss.
Kachumber
This is an East Indian Salad consisting of Diced Tomatoes, Cucumbers, and Onions with Lemon Juice. Sometimes with Chili Peppers like Jalapeño or Serrano Chili. There are all kinds of other ingredients that can be and often are added to this salad. It’s this version that I settled on and shaped the Tandoori Salad after. The vegetables are just so nice and refreshing and that Tandoori Vinaigrette just brings it all together.
My version which I call a Tandoori Salad uses this simple Vinaigrette seasoned with Tandoori Masala. The White Vinegar in the vinaigrette can be exchanged with Lemon or Lime Juice, or keep it as White Vinegar.
Tandoori Salad Dressing
The Tandoori Dressing or Vinaigrette combines Mr Salad Dressing and JAH Tandoori Masala for a Beautiful Tandoori Vinaigrette.
Normally, the Tandoori Masala has some kick to it when used on Chicken. But in the Salad, the heat is really toned down and all the other flavors come out to play. It really is a Delicious Sweet Salad Dressing.
Just combine the below ingredients together and mix really well. Pour it over your Vegetables and toss with or without Tandoori Chicken.
Tandoori Vinaigrette
