Steamed Broccoli is a simple side dish that can be prepared to go with various meals. Not only is it easy to make, but it’s also incredibly quick, versatile and healthy. Enhance the flavors of the tender, freshly steamed broccoli florets by tossing them with a myriad of ingredients.

Broccoli
Chop the stems off, close to the florets, into bite size pieces from 2 crowns of Broccoli and wash well.

Broccoli only needs to steam for about 5–6 minutes for crisp tender to soft tender. Pierce with a fork to check for tenderness.
How to Steam Broccoli
Place water into the Steamer set and bring to a boil over max heat. Once steaming, add in the chopped and washed bite size pieces of Broccoli. Steam until tender to your liking, about 6 minutes. Pierce with a fork to check the tenderness at 5 minutes.
When removing the Basket to empty into a bowl. Strain out any excess water and give it a few seconds to air dry before emptying into the bowl to season with Salt & Pepper and toss with Puck Creamy Dairy Spread or various other sauces.
Steamer
The steamer set I have is a Master Class 2 tier Steamer set. Prior to this, I steamed in the Rice cooker on the steamer setting. The Master Class Steamer set is much larger and is ready to steam in about 1 minute, depending on how much water is added. Usually I just add about 1 inch of water, which heats up very quick over max heat.

Place enough water into the bottom pan to cover about 1 inch over max heat with the steamer basket and lid on top.
How long to steam Broccoli
Steam bite size Broccoli Florets for about 5–6 minutes, a shorter time for crisp tender, longer for softer. Check the tenderness by piercing with a fork at the 5-minute mark.
Salt & Pepper Blend
Use the Salt & Pepper blend to season the Broccoli to taste after steaming. Just combine into a small bowl and Season the Freshly Steamed Broccoli to taste. Keep the small bowl of Salt & Pepper on the counter to season other foods as needed.

Add the desired amount (3-4 Tbl or more) of this sauce to a bowl of Steamed Broccoli or Cauliflower with Salt & Pepper to taste and toss well.

Steamed Broccoli Sauces
Broccoli with Garlic Sauce is very good, and so is the warm Cheese Whiz Sauce drizzled over freshly Steamed Broccoli. Both of which takes no time at all to make.
Garlic Sauce
Toss the Steamed Broccoli in the desired amount of Garlic Sauce. Season with Salt & Pepper if needed.
Cheese Whiz Sauce
Ladle warm Cheese Whiz Sauce over the Steamed Broccoli.

Ingredients
- 2 crowns Broccoli - Chopped into bite size pieces
- 3-4 Tbl Puck Creamy Dairy Spread - See notes for other sauces
- To Taste Salt & Pepper
Salt & Pepper Blend
- 1 Tbl Sea Salt
- 1 tsp Black Pepper
- 1/2 tsp White Pepper
Instructions
- Prepare the Broccoli by chopping into bite size pieces, close to the florets and wash well. Set aside until ready for the steamer.
- Place about 1 inch of water into the steamer set and heat over Max Heat. Combine the Salt & Pepper blend and set aside.
- Add the Broccoli to steam for about 6 minutes, or until tender to your liking. A bit shorter for crisp tender and a bit longer for softer. Use a fork to check the tenderness at about 5 minutes.
- Meanwhile, add the Puck Sauce or other choice of Sauce into the Bowl you will use to toss the Broccoli.
- When the Broccoli is ready, remove the steamer basket and strain out any excess water. Let the Broccoli air dry a bit, just a few seconds. Transfer to the Bowl with Puck Creamy Dairy Spread, season with Salt & Pepper and toss the Broccoli to plate.
