The Grilled Deluxe Burger Sandwich made up the same way as the Grilled Cheeseburger Sandwich and using the same ingredients as the Deluxe Burger, without the lettuce. This burger is topped off with a large sliced Tomato & Onion with the inner rings and that Deluxe Sauce with Ketchup & Mustard on top.
This is one of my favorite burgers, whether it is made on a Hamburger Bun or on Bread & Toasted or done in a Panini Grill.
Burger Patties
Use the Burger Mixin below. This is also mentioned in the post How to make Burgers. It just creates a very flavorful patty with a nice texture. Use the below seasoning for each 1 lb. of Ground Beef.
Use a quarter pound of beef and shape into a patty. Press out the patty, thin and slightly larger than the sliced bread. Once these are shaped, place them on a baking sheet to freeze.
Burger Mixin
- 1 tsp Beef Powder
- 1/2 tsp MSG
- 1/4 tsp Baking Powder

How to Make Burger Patties
Break apart the very cold Ground beef with your fingers gently to ensure that there are no large clumps of meat. Sprinkle the Burger Mixin over the meat (Beef Powder, MSG, Baking Powder) and stir the meat around, mixing gently.
You are not trying to mix it in. Instead, you are trying to evenly distribute the seasoning. Just turning the meat over and mixing gently is enough.
Weigh out 1/4 lb. and shape into burger patties with a hamburger press. Once formed, place on the baking sheet and press it down to make it thinner and spread out so that it is slightly larger than the bread slices. Place into the freezer to freeze.
Burger Seasoning
Use the Rotisserie Seasoning to season the burgers. This is a very good seasoning that works really well with Burgers. Once you have one side seared, seasoned it with the Rotisserie Seasoning. When the other side is done, flip the burger over to season the other side before removing from the pan.
Sliced Bread
Slather on some Mayo on 2 slices of bread. This will be the outside that comes into contact with the pan or Panini Grill. Other specialty breads like Rye bread can also be used.
Spread mayo on 2 slices and then put those sides together stacked on top. Then, when it comes time to cook, just place the top slice into the pan, mayo side down and start building the Burger.
Grilled Rotisserie Deluxe Burger Toppings
These get topped off with a sliced Onion, including the inner rings and sliced Tomato. Use a large Onion & Tomato, so you can maximize on the coverage. If the Onions or Tomatoes are not large enough to cover. Then add 2 – 3 slices so that the burger is covered.
The Sauces are
- Deluxe Sauce
- Ketchup (preferably Heinz Chili Sauce)
- French’s Yellow Mustard on top.
Ketchup
To me, this makes all the difference in the world. It just has that taste that is really good anywhere you would normally use Ketchup.
Heinz Chili Sauce
Use Heinz Chili Sauce to get that Old Style McDonald’s Ketchup flavor. This is just exceptional, used in places where you would normally add ketchup and with a side of Fries.
Deluxe Sauce
The Deluxe sauce is just crazy good with burgers and very simple to make. Double or Triple the recipe for more.
Deluxe Sauce
- 1/4 C Hellmann’s Mayo
- 1/4 tsp Rotisserie Seasoning & White Vinegar
Toasting the Bread
Once the burgers are cooked, add some water to the pan and place it back on the burner to deglaze the pan. This will clean the pan out and drop the heat. Dump out the water and rinse again before placing back on the heat and waiting a minute or so for the water to evaporate and heat up before you place the first bread slice in.
Build the burger up with
- First Slice of Bread with Mayo on the outside and Deluxe Sauce on the inside.
- Sliced Tomato
- Burger Patty, seasoned with Rotisserie Seasoning
- Sliced Onion
- Ketchup & Mustard
Toast them anywhere from 1 to 2 minutes per side, or until crisp to your liking. Some like it lightly toasted, while other like it heavily toasted.
These can also go into the Panini Grill to cook until crisp.
