It’s an informative post outlining the various components that come together to create your burger. The Toppings & Sauces are up to you.
English Burger Patty
The Burger Patty is a 90 g Burger Patty. But can be substituted with Bangers or other Sausages shaped into a Burger Patty. If making the Burgers from scratch, portion and shape into patties and lay them on a baking sheet to freeze. They will go directly to searing pretty much from frozen so that they can get a good sear but still stay nice and juicy.
Burger Mixin
- 1 lb Ground Beef
- 1 tsp Beef Powder
- 1/2 tsp MSG
- 1/4 tsp Baking Powder
- Optionally with 1-2 Tbl chopped Beef Suet
Burger Seasoning
Just the standard Salt & Pepper blend is good to season the Burger patties with. Just combine the ingredients and mix.
Salt & Pepper Blend
- 1 Tbl Sea Salt

- 1/2 tsp White Pepper
English Burger Sauce
The Sauce is a mixture of Mayonnaise and Ketchup with the Iconic Condiment, HP Sauce. This sauce can also be used for French Fry Dip.
HP Sauce
While originally used for Steak. It’s an excellent burger sauce, too. This is used with Mayo & Ketchup to create the English Burger Sauce.
English Burger Sauce
Per Burger, mix the following
- 1 Tbl Hellmann’s Mayo
- 1 tsp French’s Ketchup
- 1 tsp HP Sauce
Pepper Zing Mayo
You can also go the Zesty route with a Pepper Zing Mayo instead. Just combine the below ingredients and use 1 Tbl or so per burger.
- 1/4 C Hellmann’s Mayo
- 1/2 tsp Lemon Juice
- 1/8 tsp Salt & Pepper blend
English Burger Toppings
You got to have the English Cucumbers in there. Either Refrigerator Pickles made with English Cucumbers or sliced English Cucumbers with Salt & Pepper, optionally soaked in White Vinegar. Outside of that, you can top this off with anything including Tomatoes, Onions, Bacon, Cheese, Lettuce
Optionally, you can slice English Cucumber slices and place them into and old jar of Dill Pickles that are empty but the brine remains. Leave them in there for a few weeks to use for this Burger. This is an excellent way to reuse Pickle Brine. These can also be used for Cucumber Sandwiches.
