This is the Classic Cold Tuna Sandwich recipe that goes on Buttered White Bread. It is also the same Tuna Salad filling used for the Tuna Omelette Filling. Made up in no time at all for a lunch or just a quick snack. Even as an appetizer tray with the sandwiches sliced into four pieces each and arranged in a presentation tray.
Cold Tuna Sandwich Ingredients
Canned Tuna, Mayo, Mustard, Sweet Relish, Lemon Juice, Sugar, Sea Salt, Black Pepper, White Bread and Butter.
Canned Tuna
Strain and squeeze out all the Juices from the canned tuna and empty into a mixing bowl to add the remaining ingredients. I do this by draining the juices and then squeezing the Tuna against the edge of the can.

Tuna Filling
The Tuna Filling is made from the squeezed Canned Tuna and the remaining ingredients added in. Mix it around really well, flatten it out and divide into 2 for two sandwiches.
Adjustments: You can add more Mayo for extra mayo, or spread mayo on the bread slice. Optionally drop the Lemon Juice for less Zesty or add more. Increase the Black Pepper for more heat. Add finely diced Celery, Dill Pickles, or Onions to the Tuna Spread for more crunchy bits throughout the spread, and/or Lettuce for the sandwich. Even a splash of Worcestershire, which works wonderfully with Mustard.

Sandwiches
Butter up some bread and divide the Tuna Salad filling to make the sandwiches. Slice them in half and serve, or place into a Ziploc bag and refrigerate until later.
If you want extra mayo, slather it directly onto the bread. Add lettuce to the sandwich if you like.

Tuna Melt
This Tuna Salad filling can be used for a Tuna Melt as well. However, for that, I have another recipe that really delivers a powerhouse of flavors for a Tuna Melt or a Hot Tuna Sandwich. It is very unique and so delicious.
Nonetheless, I often go back and forth between a simple, light and refreshing Cold Tuna Sandwich or the Beautiful Heavy Hitter Tuna Melt. Served on Toasted English Muffins with a slice of Cheese, wrapped in tinfoil and in the oven at 450F for 5 minutes.

Sandwich Appetizer Tray
Include these in an appetizer sandwich tray. While the below images shows Canned Ham Sandwiches & Egg Salad Sandwiches, and can include the Double Decker Ham & Egg Salad Sandwiches. The Tuna Sandwiches can be included here too, for a Trio Sandwich Platter.
