The BLT Burger is your Classic BLT Sandwich with a seasoned & seared Quarter Pound Burger Patty or Marinated and Grilled Chicken Fillet with a few options for a BLT Burger Sauce.
Beef BLT Burger
Use the below Burger Mixin. Just add all the ingredients and toss gently with the very cold ground beef. Weigh out 112g-115g portions and shape into Hamburger Patties, about 1/4 inch or slightly thinner. So that it can be seared for about 3 minutes per side and fill out the toasted bread.
Burger Mixin
- 1 lb Cold Ground Beef
- 1 tsp Beef Powder
- 1/2 tsp MSG
- 1/4 tsp Baking Powder
Burger Seasoning
For the Burger Seasoning, use the Salt & Pepper Blend. A pinch of this can be used to season the Tomatoes too.
Salt & Pepper Blend
- 1 Tbl Sea Salt
- 1 tsp Black Pepper
- 1/2 tsp White Pepper
Chicken BLT Burger
The Grilled Chicken BLT Burger uses the McDonald’s Grilled Chicken Marinade. Slice Chicken Breast about 1/4 inch thick into fillets. Combine the marinade ingredients and marinate the Chicken. Then Grill the Chicken Fillets in a double-sided grill for 8 minutes or sear over medium heat until done.
Marinade
- 1/2 C Water
- 1/4 C Oil
- 2 tsp Parmesan Cheese
- 1 tsp Chicken Powder & Sea Salt
- 1/2 tsp Lemon Juice
- 1/4 tsp Liquid Smoke & Onion Powder
- 1/8 tsp Black Pepper & Paprika
Grilled Chicken
Marinate and Grill the Chicken to use instead of a Burger.
BLT Sandwich
Either a Quarter Pounder or Chicken Fillet on a BLT Sandwich. Go the Classic route with Mayonnaise on Buttered Toast, or Zest it up with the BLT Sauce. This recipe uses Parmesan Toast with Mustarshire sauce for the BLT Burger.
BLT Burger Sauce
There are a few different sauces you can use, or stay with the Classic Mayonnaise. For me, I got to add a bit of Lemon Juice and Black Pepper to the Mayonnaise to make it pop.
However, the Mild Mayo Sauce or Big Mac Sauce works well or the Mustarshire Sauce used on the Mustarshire Burger with added Basil & Black Pepper is wonderful.
Use 1 Tbl of Sauce on both Slices for each BLT Burger.
Mustarshire Sauce
- 1/4 C Hellmann’s Mayonnaise
- 1/2 tsp French’s Dijon Mustard & Worcestershire Sauce
- 1/2 tsp Basil
- 1/8 tsp Black Pepper
Zesty Mayonnaise
- 1/4 C Hellmann’s Mayonnaise
- 1/2 tsp Lemon Juice
- 1/8 tsp Black Pepper or more
- Or the Salt & Pepper Blend
BLT Burger Toppings
The Classic Toppings of Bacon, Lettuce and Tomatoes.
Bacon
Before you start anything, place strips of Bacon on a baking sheet and into the oven. Then turn the oven on to 400 F and bake for 10–15 minutes, or until crisp to your liking. Drain the grease off, saving it for other recipes, and transfer the bacon to a plate.
Bacon
Snap or chop the Bacon, so the strips cover the BLT Burger without sticking out of the edges too much.
Lettuce
Iceberg Lettuce is the best. Chopped, Sliced or Torn. Washed well and dried. A few Fresh Basil Leaves can be added since they work so well with Tomatoes.
Lettuce
Tear, Wash and Dry about 25g – 30g per BLT Burger.
Tomatoes
Field Tomatoes works just fine. Beefsteak or Heirloom Tomatoes do taste better.
Place the Tomato on its side and slice into 1/4 inch slices. About the same thickness as your Burger Patty, Chicken Fillet or Toast. Sprinkle a bit of the Salt & Pepper blend to season the Tomatoes.
