Red Relish Burger Patty on a Buttered & Toasted Sesame Bun and some Homemade Red Relish. Add additional toppings like Lettuce, Tomatoes, Onions, and/or Cheese.
Burger Patties
Visits my post on How to Make Burgers. This will make an excellent burger using Ground Beef. It also gets into how to shape the burgers and their sizes and weights, with other useful information. These need to be made up and ready to go for this recipe.
With this recipe, using the larger Sesame Buns flatten the Burger Patties to about 1/4 inch or slightly thinner. This will be bigger than the hamburger bun initially, but will shrink as it cooks.
The Hamburger buns are about 4 inches and the hamburger Patties are flattened out to about 5 inches.
Weigh out the Burger Patties at about 113 g or a Quarter pound.
Burger Seasoning
The Burger seasoning used is
- 1 Tbl Sea Salt
- 1 tsp Black Pepper
- 1/2 tsp White Pepper
Add other ingredients to your liking. Such as Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, or Paprika.
Sesame Hamburger Buns
Sesame Hamburger Buns Buttered with Real Butter and Toasted in the pan before searing the burger patties. Start these first as the pan warms up over medium heat. By the time all the buns are toasted, the pan should be hot enough for the burger patties.
Use the Wonder Ball Park Sesame Buns for this. These are really good and a hearty size.
Searing the Burgers
Place the burgers into the frying pan right after toasting the buns. The Pan should already be up to temp and primed for the burgers. Sear them for about 3 minutes per side. When you flip over the burgers, season with the Burger seasoning. Then flip again to season the other side once the juices start running clear and remove them.
Optionally, you can add some of the bacon grease to the pan to give the burgers an extra boost of bacon flavor or use JAH Meat Oil. Which will assist in adding more umami and boost up the smoke flavor.
Red Relish
Easy Homemade Red Relish! This is so good on Burgers and can be mixed with other ingredients like Mayonnaise as an in the A&W Mozza Burger. Made with just 2 simple ingredients (Heinz Chili Sauce & Sweet Green Relish).
Combine and sauce up the Burgers real good. This is really good on Hot Dogs & Sausages too.
- 3 Tbl Sweet Green Relish
- 2 Tbl Heinz Chili Sauce
Additional Toppings
Add whatever you like.
- Bacon
- Mayo or Smokey Burger Sauce
- Lettuce
- Onions, Caramelized Onions, Fried Onions
- Tomatoes
- Dill Pickles

Smokey Red Relish Burger
Instead of Mayonnaise, add Smokey Burger Sauce. This pairs up so well with the Red Relish and adds that Umami & Smoke Flavor for a seriously good Burger.
