Pepper Zing Mayo made with Lemon Juice for the Zest and a Salt & Pepper blend containing both Black & White Pepper for the pepper note. Combined with Hellmann’s Mayonnaise or Homemade Mayo for a Keto version. Used in many places including BLT’s, Tortilla or Pita Wraps, Various Burgers/Sandwiches, Pepper Zing Crab Sandwiches and over Rice as a condiment sauce. It’s an amazing and simple Sauce!
Mayonnaise
Use Hellmann’s Mayonnaise or if you’re looking to keep things Keto, make a Homemade Mayo without the sugar present in store bought mayo. It’s super easy too, just combine everything into a glass jar and use an immersion blender to blend until thickened. Combine it with a bit more Lemon Juice with Salt & Pepper blend for the Zesty Pepper Mayo.
Hellmann’s Mayonnaise
Hellmann’s Mayonnaise is one of the best mayonnaise out there and for this recipe serves the purpose.
Lemon Juice
Add just a small amount of Lemon Juice to bring some Zest. If using 1/4 C Mayo, use 1/4-1/2 tsp Lemon Juice. 1/2 C Mayo, use 1/2-1 tsp Lemon Juice.
Lemon Juice
Add more or less to get the desired Zing.
Pepper
Just a bit of the Salt & Pepper blend below, about 1/8 tsp for 1/4 C of Mayo. For more heat, add Black Pepper by itself to taste. You can also use a Lemon Pepper blend.
Salt & Pepper Blend
- 1 Tbl Sea Salt
- 1 tsp Black Pepper
- 1/2 tsp White Pepper
Halal White Sauce for Rice
The Halal White Sauce is a sauce offered by The Halal Guys and is drizzled over their Rice. It’s a dairy free sauce with their ingredients listed as ;
soybean, canola oil, egg yolk, vinegar, water, salt, sugar, natural flavors and black pepper
This is basically a Zesty Mayonnaise with Black Pepper and a bit of Sugar. Although, when making this Pepper Zing Mayo to use over Rice. Add a bit of Water to adjust the consistency. So that it easily squeezes out of a Squeeze bottle. Add a bit of Aioli or Garlic, and/or some additional Spices like Garlic, Onion, Cardamon & Cumin, if you want.
While the Halal White Sauce contains Sugar, you can make this with a Homemade Mayo and keep the White Sauce Keto. Adjust the Zest with Lemon Juice or substitute with White Vinegar at half the amount (1/2 tsp) and the heat with Black Pepper to taste (up to 1/2 tsp). If wanting to add the Sugar, add in about 1 tsp worth or in amounts for the desired sweetness.

Instructions
- Combine the Salt & Pepper Blend ingredients into a small bowl and mix.
- In another bowl or squeeze bottle, combine the Mayo, Lemon Juice, Salt & Pepper to taste. If a more peppery note is desired, add in Black Pepper to taste. Mix well and use on Sandwiches, Burgers, over Rice and other recipes.
