Pizza Pasta Sauce
Pizza Pasta Sauce Header

A pretty dang good Pizza Pasta Sauce that can be used both for Pizza & Pasta. It’s really easy to throw together too and ready in minutes. Just add all the ingredients into a pot, bring to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer for 5–10 minutes. Use it to make a variety of Pizzas, Pizza Pasta Melts or with Spaghetti (Pizzetti). It makes about 740g worth of sauce or thereabouts.

Pizza Pasta Sauce Ingredients

The ingredients are Tomato Paste, Tomato Juice, Water, Butter, Bouillon Cube, Pizza Seasoning, Sea Salt, Sugar and Black Pepper to taste.

Tomato Paste

Tomato Paste

Use a good quality double or triple concentrate deep red tomato paste. The generic no name stuff just doesn’t cut it here.

Tomato Juice

Tomato Juice

Use Tomato Juice. Don’t use Tomato Sauce, since this is slightly thicker than juice. An equal amount of water is added to thin out even more for the amount of tomato paste being used.

Gay Lea Butter

Butter

Butter is added for the fat component. A light tasting EVOO can also be used. Although, Butter gives a nice overall flavor.

Knorr Beef Bouillon

Bouillon Cube

Either Beef, Chicken, Pork or Vegetable Bouillon or the equivalent in broth powder.

Pizza Pasta Sauce Seasoning

The Pizza Seasoning was something I was just messing around with. I was really surprised by both the smell of it and the flavors it created. It even smells like Pizza Seasoning. It’s really simple, too. Just combine the ingredients and use 2 Tbl of it in the Sauce.

  • 1 tsp dried Oregano
  • 3/4 tsp dehydrated minced Garlic
  • 1/2 tsp Marjoram, ground Thyme, ground Rosemary, and Savory
  • 1/8 tsp Red Chili Flakes

How to make Pizza Pasta Sauce

It’s super easy and really quick. Just combine all the ingredients and mix well. Bring to a boil over max heat. Reduce the heat and simmer for 5–10 minutes. Mix well, ensuring the bouillon cube is completely dissolved.

Depending on the type of Tomato paste used for the Pizza Pasta Sauce. A bit of acidity can be added through Lemon Juice or Red Wine Vinegar when using as a Pizza Sauce. This is usually present in a good quality tomato paste.
For Pasta, use 200g per 100g of dry pasta.
