Chick Fil A Coleslaw recipe posted by Chick-fil-A before removing it from their menu. It’s a simple Side Salad that takes no time at all to make, since it uses 2 x 10 oz bags of already finely shredded Cabbage. Chic Fil A dices the carrot. But these can be shredded and then chopped fine just as well.
You can also Jazz it up with some extra ingredients like Green Peppers, Onions, Radishes for some heat or add in Black or White Pepper for some heat. It makes for a Great Holiday side dish too!
Cabbage
You can finely shred about 567g of Cabbage with a Food Processor, Mandoline or Knife and then chop to the desired size. Chick-fil-A uses 2 x 10 oz bags of finely shredded cabbage that are further chopped down before adding them to the bowl with the Coleslaw Dressing. Either way you do it, ensure the Cabbage is finely shredded and then further chopped down into smaller pieces. Some like the coleslaw with long to medium strands and others in small diced pieces.
Shredded & Chopped Cabbage
A food Processor was used with the slicing Blade and then further chopped down into smaller pieces. Optionally use the shredding blade which will slice already into small pieces, no additional chopping needed.
Carrots
Chick-fil-A dices the Carrots very small, and you can do that here. I prefer the Carrots to be shredded and then chopped into smaller pieces, just the same as the Cabbage.
Shredded & Chopped Carrots
Shred 1/4 C of Carrots or 1 small Carrot and then further chop down into small pieces to add with the Cabbage.
Chick Fil A Coleslaw Mix
The Coleslaw mix is made up of shredded and chopped Cabbage, Carrots and Coleslaw Dressing.
Coleslaw Mix
- 567g Cabbage
- or 2 x 10 oz Finely shredded Cabbage, chopped
- 1/4 C Carrots, shredded and chopped
Chick Fil A Coleslaw Dressing
The Chick Fil A Dressing is made up in two stages. The first stage is to whisk just the Vinegar, Sugar, Dry Mustard, and Salt until everything is dissolved. Then Mayo is added, and the Dressing is mixed again before the Cabbage & Carrots are added.
Coleslaw Dressing
- 4 tsp Distilled White Vinegar
- 1/4 C White Sugar
- 1/4 tsp Dry Mustard
- 1/4 tsp Salt
Whisk Well and then add 1 Cup of Mayo and mix again before adding in the Coleslaw Mix.
Pairing Coleslaw
Coleslaw is an excellent side dish with Fried Chicken, especially Fried Chicken Breast, or as a topping for Fried Chicken Burgers. It is also paired up with various BBQ food items, Burgers, Fish & Chips and on Hot Dogs like the Montreal All Dressed Steamie or Toastie. Since this is a Chick-fil-A Coleslaw recipe, you can serve these up with some Homemade Chick Fil A Nuggets too or include as a topping for Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwiches.
