Instant Buffalo Noodles! It’s Ramen Noodles with a bit of Frank’s RedHot Sauce & Butter and really good too. Make it as Spicy as you want.
I’ve been making this for quite a while and thought nothing of it. But after sharing it with some friends and getting feedback that it was really good. I thought I’d share it here.
Instant Noodles
Mr Noodles are cheap and make for a good quick snack in about 3 minutes. While I use these for a quick Snack, these can also be turned into complete meals with the addition of Meats & Vegetables.
Boil the Noodles for 3 minutes while breaking up the noodles and then strain out all the water, reserving about 1/4 C. Add the Seasoning and then your Frank’s RedHot Sauce & Butter to taste. That’s all there is too it.
Vegetable Mr Noodles
Chicken Mr Noodles
You can also drain out all the water and omit the seasoning pack included with the Mr Noodles or use just very little of it and add the Buffalo Sauce for Lo Mein style instead of Ramen Style.
Instant Buffalo Noodles Sauce
The Instant Buffalo Noodles Sauce is made up of both Frank’s RedHot Sauce & Butter along with the seasoning packet that comes with the Noodles. How much of each you put in is entirely up to you. Usually about 1 Tbl of Butter and 3–5 Shakes of the Frank’s RedHot Sauce is pretty good.
Frank’s RedHot Sauce
Add to taste as Spicy as you want. 3-5 shakes or more for even spicier.
Butter
Use real Butter, it just has better flavors. The amount of Butter added will tone down the heat in the Franks RedHot Sauce. Less butter more spicy, more butter less spicy.
Proteins
Thinly sliced Chicken Breast, Pork or Beef can be added to the Boiling Water to cook through before adding in the Noodles. Which should only take a minute or so. Then the noodles added with the meat to boil for 3 minutes. You don’t need a lot, either. Just a small piece of Chicken Breast or Steak is enough for 4 portions.
Fried Spam can also be included. I use this for the Spam Noodles. The Spam can be fried and sliced into strip or fried in whole slices to place on top.
Add Shrimp with Shrimp Mr Noodles! Fry the Shrimp up in some Butter and set aside. Prepare the Noodles and add the Shrimp.
Include a Boiled or Sunny Side Up Egg!
Vegetables
Add in either Green Onions or dehydrated or Frozen Leek or both. Just add it to the water while boiling along with the Noodles. Green Onions can also be added to the Noodles after they have been cooked for a fresher taste.
Other Vegetable may include Shredded Carrots and/or Napa Cabbage added to the water and then brought to a boil.
Instant Buffalo Noodles with Shrimp
Shrimp Mr Noodles
Prepare the Shrimp first and then Boil the Noodles.
Frying Shrimp
Fry up 5–6 pieces of Shrimp in 1 Tbl of Butter or more and 5 shakes of the Frank’s RedHot Sauce per serving. As it comes off the heat, throw in some sliced Green Onions.
Shrimp Bowl
Empty the Shrimp into a serving bowl with the Buffalo Sauce and start the Noodles. Add more Butter & Hot Sauce if desired. Start the Noodles.
Shrimp Lo Mein
This is made with all but 1/4 C of the water drained out. The Seasoning pack added and mixed in. Then the remaining liquid drained out before emptying into the bowl with the Shrimp.
Shrimp Ramen
This is made with all but 1/4 C of the water drained out. The Seasoning pack added to the bowl with the Shrimp. Instead of draining out all the liquid for Lo Mein. It is included and emptied into the bowl for Shrimp Ramen.
