Giuseppe Mini Pizza Review

I picked this up quite a while ago while it was on sale and out of curiosity just to see how it tasted. I wasn’t expecting much. Just your standard Mini Pizza.

However, this is a really well done Pizza with very good Flavor and a nice Sauce. It is a well-balanced Pizza with the Toppings, Sauce, and Cheese to Dough Ratio.

It must be cooked until just done. Overcooking it cooks the flavor right out of it. When cooked just right, it’s possibly one of the best Mini Pizza on the market. So let’s break this down even further.

Crust

I find it interesting that there is Barley Flour in the crust, as this could be the reason why the Dough carries the Flavor it does. This is a nice dough that you can cook till soft or crust up a bit, however you like your Mini Pizzas.

It is not too doughy and has a nice balance with the Sauce. It’s a tender dough and not overpowering in flavor, but instead is a pretty good medium, delivering the taste of the overall pizza.

It’s not like a Pizza dough with a Crisp Crust and Soft inside, but we’re talking mini pizzas here. There are other brands that create the Dough like a Biscuit or extremely Chewy. Giuseppe does a pretty good job at delivering a Dough texture and flavor that you would expect in Frozen Mini Pizzas.

Sauce

The Sauce is really good. Probably my most favorite out of everything. It’s Surprisingly very delicious even though it is made from Tomato Paste.

There is a gelatinous texture to it most likely from the Cornstarch but is quite pleasing. Not like a Gel, but a thickened Pizza Sauce that gives it body.

The Flavor from the Seasoning is what makes it really stand out. There is a Herbal blend that is really quite desirable, maybe a bit of citric acid or possibly Ketchup. It is a Flavorful Sauce.

It is also Sauced on generously and allows the whole pizza to come together quite nicely.

Cheese

The Cheese is the standard Cheese you get on mini pizzas, but is in amounts that are sufficient. Most Times we add a bit extra because we really like it cheesy but isn’t needed. There is a good balance of it.

Toppings

The Toppings are pretty good. You usually get something in every bite and pairs up complimentary with the Sauce.

It’s your standard 3 slices of Pepperoni. Although not your typical cured Pepperoni in a Pizzeria Style sense. It does contain sodium Nitrite and Bacterial Culture, so is most likely cured. It’s a good tasting Pepperoni, too. Same with the Bacon bits.

You can taste the individual Toppings, and along with the Sauce, Cheese and Dough is a very Tasty mouthful.

Cook Times

We cook this for 8–9 minutes on 425 F. This I find gives the best results without cooking the Flavors out and getting a nice soft crust with ample sauce.

I have accidentally overcooked these, and I can assure you that the overcooked Pizzas are completely different from the ones done just right.

Giuseppe Mini Pizza Conclusion

This is now my Go-to Mini Pizzas when I pick them up. They do an excellent job putting this together and creating possibly one of the best Mini Pizzas out there. Everything blends in balance and offers a Blast of Flavor that is exceptional, considering that it is a frozen mini pizza sold in your local grocery store. It is the best I’ve had to date and is recommended.
