Ingredients
1lbFrench Fries
AsDesiredShredded Cheese
Sloppy Meat & Vegetables
1lbGround Beef
1eachOnion, Bell Pepper, Carrot, and Celery
3ClovesGarlic
1tspSea Salt
Sloppy Sauce
1CWater
1/4CTomato Paste
2TblSweet Pimento Paste - or Hot for a bit of heat
1CubeBeef Bouillon
1/2TblSmoked Paprika, Lemon Juice, and Chickpea Flour - each
1/2CKetchup
1TblPrepared Yellow Mustard
1tspChili Powder
1/4tspBlack Pepper
Instructions
Preheat the Fryer to 350F — 375F.
Sloppy Meat & Sauce: Combine all the Sloppy Sauce ingredients together in a bowl and set aside. Heat a pan up over medium high heat and brown the meat with 1 tsp salt.Add the Vegetables to cook for a minute or so, until softened. Then add the Sloppy Sauce and continue to cook until it's thickened over medium or medium low heat. About 10 minutes. Add more water if needed to keep it Saucy. Keep warm over low heat.
Fries: Deep Fry the French Fries for about 8 minutes. Lift the Fries out of the Oil to allow it to come back to temp. Deep-fry a second time until there is no more steam coming from the Fries, and they are crispy and browned.
Serving: Plate the Fries and slop on a ladle of Sloppys Meat Sauce. Top with Cheese and serve.
Notes
Hot Sloppy Fries: There are all kinds of ways to add heat, use the below as a guideline;
Mild: Use Hot Pimento Paste instead of Sweet, and/or up the Black Pepper to the desired level.
Medium: Add Cayenne to increase the heat from mild.
Hot: Include Sriracha and/or increase the Cayenne Pepper.
Spicy: Include crushed Chilies de Arbol or Red Thai Chilies.
