A seared juicy beef patty topped with sauerkraut, yellow relish, ketchup. Optionally with bacon, and cheese served on a toasted bun. A sauerkraut burger combines the savory richness of a beef patty with the sour and fermented flavor of sauerkraut that adds a brightness that cuts through the richness of the meat, balancing the flavors. The yellow relish adds more bite and a warming spiced flavor from the spices used in the pickled cucumbers. While the onions in the relish add more depth. The overall flavor is hearty, tangy, warming spiced undertones, and deeply satisfying.
Heat a skillet up over medium heat and toast the Hamburger Buns to your liking. Meanwhile, prepare the Salt & Pepper blend, Yellow Relish and the desired amount of Sauerkraut and set aside. When the Buns are toasted, set aside.
If adding Bacon, place the Bacon on a baking sheet and into a cold oven set at 400 F to cook for 13–15 minutes or until crisp to your liking. Drain the grease out to save for other recipes. Start searing the hamburger patties, about 3 minutes per side, or until the juices run clear. Season the seared side of the burger patties with Salt & Pepper.
