2 Bowls for the weighed out Pizza Pasta Sauce & Cheese
Ingredients
300gPasta
16CWater
2TblSea Salt
400gChoice of Pizza Toppings/Fillings - anywhere from 1/2 lb - 1 lb total
200gMozzarella Cheese - or 3:1 Mozza & Provolone Cheese Blend
Instructions
Fill the Pasta pot up with 16 cups of water & 2 Tbl of Sea Salt to bring to a boil on the back burner. Weigh out 300g of Pasta and set aside.Prepare the Pizza Pasta Sauce and weigh out 600g into a bowl, set aside for now.Prepare your choice of Toppings/Fillings to get a total of 1/2 lb - 1 lb.Shred the Cheese, weighing out 200g, and set aside.
Add the Pasta to the Boiling water and boil until the pasta is al dente. Cook any toppings that need to be cooked in the skillet. Optionally add any Cured Meats or Vegetables to fry briefly right before adding the sauce. In some cases, depending on your toppings. They will need to be cooked before adding the pasta to the pot.
When about 5 minutes of cook time remain for the Pasta, add the Pizza Pasta Sauce to heat through over medium heat and await the Pasta. If it splatters too much, remove it from the heat to await the pasta.
Once the pasta is Al Dente, strain out with the inner basket or use a spider to scoop out all the short pasta or tongs for long pasta and add it directly to the skillet with the Fillings & Sauce. Mix well and continue to cook for a few minutes while mixing. It can be served like this for Pizza Pasta, usually with long pasta like Spaghetti or Cheese added for a Pizza Pasta Melt.
Sprinkle Cheese on top, cover and remove from the heat to rest for about 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Ensure all the Toppings that need to be cooked are cooked with the Sauce added and heated through, ready for the Pasta by the time the Pasta is done. If they won't be ready, then cook your Toppings first, and then throw everything together to heat through by the time the Pasta is ready to be added. Optionally, any cured meats like Pepperoni, Salami or Ham and Vegetables can be added in to fry for a minute or so before adding the Pizza Pastas Sauce to heat through and await the Pasta.
