Honey Garlic Chicken Quarters, Thighs or Legs made with a Quick Honey Garlic Sauce. Serve this up with some Steamed White Rice or Chicken Fried Rice and scoop some of that Sauce with a spoonful of Rice for a Delicious Sweet Meal.

Chicken Quarters

This recipe makes use of whole or separated Chicken Quarters. Skin on or removed, whichever you prefer. If you remove the skin, place it into a Ziploc bag and freeze to render chicken fat out for other dishes.

If the Chicken Quarter contains the backbone, make sure you clean out the internal organs.

Honey Garlic Sauce

The Honey Garlic Sauce used for this recipe is the Quick Honey Garlic Sauce. Just throw everything into a sauce pot, mix well and bring it to a boil and then pour over the chicken when ready.

The Quick Honey Garlic Sauce can be reduced to a thicker consistency by simmering it for about 3–5 minutes. If you find it is too thick after it has cooled down, add more water and whisk it in. Reheat sauce again just before pouring over the chicken if you have made the sauce ahead of time. You want the Sauce to go on hot.

  • 1 C Sugar
  • 1/2 C Water
  • 2 Tbl Soy Sauce & Ketchup
  • 2 Garlic Cloves minced
  • 1 tsp Molasses & Rice Vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp Sea Salt
  • 1/8 tsp Ginger

Oven Baked Honey Garlic Chicken

  1. Bake the Chicken in a 375 F preheated oven for 25 minutes. Flip and cook for another 20 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Quick Honey Garlic Sauce and pour it over the Chicken. Place the Chicken back into the oven with the heat turned off and leave for 15 – 20 minutes.
  3. Plate the chicken and drizzle over top a generous amount of Sauce.
Deep Fried Honey Garlic Chicken with Chicken Fried Rice

Deep Fried Honey Garlic Chicken

  1. Deep fry at 350 F for 15 minutes.
  2. Then toss in the Honey Garlic Sauce straight from the fryer.
  3. Allow to sit for 10 minutes before tossing again and serving for better absorption of the Sauce.

Optionally toss the Chicken in Cornstarch to get an even crispier coating before deep frying.

Air Fried Honey Garlic Chicken

  1. Toss Chicken Drumsticks in a bit of Oil and allow it to rest for 30 minutes to come to room temp before Air Frying.
  2. Place the drumsticks with the meaty part down and the bone end facing up lined around the basket.
  3. Air Fry at 400 F for 25 minutes.
  4. Remove and toss in a bowl with the Honey Garlic Sauce.
  5. Allow to sit for 10 minutes before tossing again and serving.

  • 1 Casserole Dish
  • 1 Sauce Pot


  • 4 Quarters Chicken - Skin on or removed, whichever you prefer

Quick Honey Garlic Sauce

  • 1 C Sugar
  • 1/2 C Water
  • 2 Tbl Soy Sauce & Ketchup
  • 2 Cloves Garlic - minced, chopped or crushed
  • 1 tsp Molasses - or Hoisin Sauce
  • 1 tsp Rice Vinegar - or more
  • 1/2 tsp Sea Salt
  • 1/8 tsp Ground Ginger - or more


  • Preheat the oven to 375 F.
    Separate the Chicken quarter into 2 pieces each, or leave Whole. Place the Chicken in the oven to bake for 25 minutes. After 25 minutes, flip the Chicken over and bake another 20 minutes.
  • When about 10 minutes of cook time remain, prepare the Quick Honey Garlic Sauce by adding everything into a pot and bring it to a boil while mixing.
    Keep an eye on it because it will boil over. Reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes on medium heat to get a thicker Honey Garlic Sauce.
    If you just want a Glaze or a thinner Honey Garlic Sauce, then remove from heat once the Sauce has boiled.
  • When Chicken is finished cooking for 45 minutes. Pour the Hot Honey Garlic Sauce over the Chicken and place it back into the oven. Turn the oven heat off and leave it there for 15–20 minutes before serving.
    Plate the Chicken and drizzle more Honey Garlic Sauce over top.
