Chicken Chipotle Burrito


Amazing Chicken Chipotle Burrito with only a few ingredients, but man do they come together to create a wicked Burrito. Add in other ingredients to your liking. Include the 3 Cheese Blend of Mozzarella, Cheddar, and Monterey Jack or some Mexican Rice, Red Taco Sauce, Refried Beans, and more.
Chicken Breast
Slice the Chicken Breast up into small cubes. This allows the marinade to get in more efficiently and do its job in flavoring the meat throughout. The Chicken cooks up pretty quickly.

Diced Chicken
A 1 lb chicken breast will yield about 2-3 Burritos.
Once the Chicken is prepped. Make the marinade and add the chicken.
Chicken Marinade
The Chicken marinade is based on the Mcdonald’s Grilled Chicken sandwich marinade, listed below.
- 1/2 C Water
- 1/4 C Oil
- 2 tsp Parmesan Cheese
- 1 tsp Chicken Powder & Sea Salt
- 1/2 tsp Lemon Juice
- 1/4 tsp Liquid Smoke & Onion Powder
- 1/8 tsp Black Pepper & Paprika
Instead of the Parmesan Cheese though, we are going to exchange it with 1 tsp of Chili Powder & 1 tsp of Chipotle Powder. Instead of 1/8 tsp of Black Pepper & Paprika, I used 1/4 tsp of Smoked Paprika. Everything else is the same.
Add the chicken and refrigerate for 30 minutes – 1 hour. Upwards to 4 hours. An overnight marinade will darken the chicken meat too much and not really intensify any flavors.

Chicken Chipotle Marinade
- 1/2 C Water
- 1/4 C Oil
- 1 tsp Chili Powder, Chipotle Powder, Chicken Powder & Sea Salt, each
- 1/2 tsp Lemon Juice
- 1/4 tsp Liquid Smoke, Smoked Paprika & Onion Powder, each
Cooking the Chicken
Cook the chicken strained from the marinade either stovetop over medium-high heat or in a preheated oven at 450 F. Cook until done and there is some browning on the chicken.

Freezing the Chicken
Make a big batch using 4-5 chicken breasts. Cook the Chicken and cool. Single portion the Chicken into Ziploc bags and freeze them. Reheat in the oven or air fryer for Chicken Chipotle Burritos on demand.
Use about 1/2 C or more for a single serving.
You can even assemble the whole Burrito and wrap it in tin foil and place them into a large Ziploc Bag. Take out the night before to defrost in the fridge and reheat. Then add in your sauces and fillings of your choice.
Tortillas
12 Inch Tortillas warmed up in the oven on a pizza stone. Then wrap like a Burrito with some Cheese.

Chicken Chipotle Burrito Sauces
The two sauces that are used are Sour Cream & Chipotle Sauce. Both of these Sauces together just create something magical for a seriously good and simple Burrito.
Use your favorite Chipotle Sauce or make a batch of JAH Chipotle Sauce.

Assembling the Chicken Chipotle Burrito
Place Sour Cream on the Tortilla. Followed by 1/2 C of cooked Chicken and Drizzle Chipotle Sauce over top. Fold Burrito style and place onto a grill or panini grill for 30 seconds or until the desired level of crispness.
Chicken Chipotle Burrito Additions
Add in whatever you like to bolster up the Burrito. Depending on how many fillings you add, adjust the amount of chicken added so that you can still get a good fold on the burrito. Some additional toppings are listed below.
- Cheese or a 3 Cheese Blend
- Lettuce
- Mexican Rice
- Refried Beans
- Guacamole
- Pico De Gallo or Salsa

Chicken Chipotle Burrito
Equipment
- 1 Skillet
- 1 Grill or Panini Press
Ingredients
- 1 lb Chicken Breast - – Diced
- As Desired Sour Cream
- As Desired Chipotle Sauce
- 2 12 inch Tortillas
Chicken Marinade
- 1/2 C Water
- 1/4 C Neutral Oil
- 1 tsp Chili Powder, Chipotle Powder, Sea Salt, and Chicken Powder
- 1/2 tsp Lemon Juice
- 1/4 tsp Smoked Paprika
Instructions
- Dice the Chicken and combine the Marinade ingredients together to marinate the chicken in the fridge for 30 minutes to an hour.
- Scoop out the Chicken and place into a skillet to fry over medium high heat until cooked through and light browning. Set the Chicken aside.
- Warm the Tortilla in the oven or in a large frying pan for a few seconds.
- Place sour cream on tortilla followed by about a 1/2 Cup of chicken and drizzle chipotle sauce over the chicken. Wrap and Grill for a few seconds and serve.
